Help Maintain Our Trails: Submit a Work Report
Even when the snow hasn’t fallen yet, there are still ways to support Nordic skiing in Oregon—and one of the easiest is by submitting a trail work report.
The Cascade Volunteers platform allows skiers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts to report trail and shelter conditions directly to the U.S. Forest Service. These reports help land managers prioritize maintenance, allocate resources, and keep our trails safe and accessible.
How ONC Members Can Help
As a member of the Oregon Nordic Club, you can volunteer simply by doing what you already love—getting outside. While you’re out on the trails:
- Take note of downed trees, trail erosion, or shelter damage
- Snap a few photos if possible
- Submit a quick report online when you return
These reports are especially helpful in the Santiam Pass, Willamette, and Deschutes National Forests, where ONC members frequently ski and volunteer.
How to Submit a Work Report
- Visit the Cascade Volunteers Work Report page
- Select “Nordic Trail Report” from the dropdown menu
- Fill in the form with:
- Date and location
- Trail or shelter name
- Description of any issues or observations
- Click Submit
Your report goes directly to Forest Service staff and helps them plan maintenance and improvements.
Why It Matters
Trail reports:
- Help keep our favorite ski routes open and safe
- Support grant funding and volunteer coordination
- Strengthen ONC’s partnership with the Forest Service
Even one report can make a difference. Thank you for helping us care for the trails we all enjoy!
