Indefinite’ closure for recovery, cleanup after fuel tank overturned on Hwy 22

“IDANHA, Ore. (KTVZ) –A double-tanker truck hauling more than 10,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel overturned on state Highway 22 east of Idanha Sunday morning, spilling more than half of its load, some of which reached the North Santiam River, and closing a 28-mile stretch indefinitely, officials said.

Oregon State Police, ODOT and other emergency personnel responded around 7:40 a.m. Sunday to the crash near milepost 63, about eight miles east of Idanha and 70 miles east of Salem, OSP Captain Timothy Fox said.

The truck driver was transported with minor injuries, Fox added.

ODOT’s TripCheck showed the crash prompted closure of the highway between mileposts 53 and 81, to Santiam Junction.”
